Gym Leaders and their Ace Pokemon in the Anime

The Gym Leader's Buddy Pokemon is often their Strongest Ace Pokemon.

The Gym Leader main job is to test a Trainer and their Pokemon to ensure they are strong enough to take the Pokemon League Challenge. If a Trainer defeats a Gym Leader, then the Trainer will receive that Gym's Badge.
